Community rules & regulations

Hello,   The following is a set of rules and regulations put in place to ensure each and every one of our players have a fair and an enjoyable stay with us. GamBit reserves the right to decide what behavior and what actions are considered to be a violation of these rules & regulations. In case of a violation of the specified provisions, GamBit has the right at its sole discretion to decide whether to perform actions including, but not limited to, deletion of your account, prohibition on using the service, and reporting to the relevant authorities. GamBit has the right to change, supplement, or delete the rules at any time, informing you about this by posting the update in our Discord channel and also on the website. All penalties are carried out to the individual. Each penalty, carried out for violations, is shared on any character the given account. Certain violations will be carried out to all accounts on the IP address. ___ ### Account * One account is to be used by one individual only. Account sharing is forbidden. Any loss of items, characters or anything else in result of account sharing will not be recovered. * One individual IP address is allowed up to 3 concurrent connections· ___ ### General conduct * Be respectful and welcoming towards others. * Always maintain a good sportsmanship-like behavior, nobody likes bullies. * Every person is responsible for his actions and his actions only. Being in a conflict you were simply provoked into is still your fault. * It is forbidden to harass another player, such as, but not limited to: * verbal harassment; * player-versus-player related harassment (see more below); * Any form of bug abuse, be it intentional or unintentional, will result in a character roll-back or a permanent ban· #### Player stores * Player held store names must be according to the **Communication** paragraph. ___ ### Communication * No use of profanity, troll-bait or other provocative behavior when communicating. * It is absolutely forbidden to share personal information (such as name, address, social media accounts, etc) without the consent from the subject. * Do not send messages that take up too much space and/or are meaningless (flooding). * Excessive use of emojis and punctuation marks is also considered as flooding. * Do not send messages which are considered as spam. * Typing in more than half of a sentence in all caps is considered spamming. * Posting advertisements of any type, in particular links to web resources and persuasive advertisements of third-party owner projects. * Do not promote the use of drugs and alcohol, including calls for their use, as well as other information that may encourage a desire to use the previously mentioned substances. * No slandering: posting of intentionally false information about the game, administration, or other players· * No discussion of game errors that could potentially result in a profit or any other advantages. Those are to be reported to the administration. * Only the languages supported by Gambit are to be used in the game chat. These are currently English, German and French. #### Penalties For each violation the account receives an infraction point. Each infraction point results in a 60 minute mute. Having more than 1 infraction point results in a more lengthy mute. Each infraction point, starting from the most recent one, expires after 7 days. Having a new infraction added resets the 7 day expiration time. ___ ### Third-party Software * It is prohibited to use third-party software or hardware to make a profit, gain game advantages or simplify the process of actions - including, but not limited to, macros. * The use of a macro on a macro-enabled hardware, such as keyboard and mouse, also falls under a third-party software. #### Penalties The following are the penalties applied to the account holder for misconduct: * 1st offense - 24 hour **Mark of the Criminal** debuff; * Disables the option to attack anything; * Disables the option to use any skills; * 2nd offense - 72 hour service block; * 3nd offense - permanent service block; Each infraction point, starting from the most recent one, expires after 90 days. Having a new infraction added resets the 90 day expiration time. Infraction expiration time starts from the time the penalty has been carried out. ___ ### Gameplay * The account holder, in any active actions, must be ready to disprove any automatically assigned actions when requested by a nearby staff member. The request to disprove such behavior extends to nearby players in non-player entity farming areas. * Simplified: none of the away-from-keyboard actions, that contribute to the active gameplay experience, are allowed and must be confirmed of the account holders presence when requested. Failure to do so will count as a macro assigned action. * It is prohibited to purposely cripple other players gameplay experience. * By trading game items willfully to other players (borrowing, renting, etc) is considered a trade made by your consent; therefor items lost in that manner would not be recovered· * Staff members will never act as middle-men or offer to vouch for a trade. * Real money trading is strictly prohibited and results in a permanent ban for all involved parties. ___ ### Player-versus-Enemy Player-versus-Enemy is considered interacting with non-player entities. * Do not steal other players farming spot. Killing the player and hijacking the spot also counts towards stealing the spot. * Do not steal other players non-player entity kill. #### Penalties A penalty will be applied with taking into account the intention, the dynamics, and the duration of the action. The following is a potential go-to penalty, but is not limited to: * Any offense - *[infraction count squared]* hour(s) **Mark of the Criminal** debuff; * Disables the option to attack anything; * Disables the option to use any skills; * Example: * 1st infraction - 1 hour debuff; * 2nd infraction - 2 x 2 = 4 hours debuff; * 3rd infraction - 3 x 3 = 9 hours debuff; Each infraction point, starting from the most recent one, expires after 14 days. Having a new infraction added resets the 14 day expiration time. Infraction expiration time starts from the time the penalty has been carried out. ___ ### Player-versus-Player Player-versus-Player is considered interacting with other players. It is an undivided feature of the game and therefor is allowed everywhere in a PK enabled zone. This paragraph doesn't apply to players whom both have a PK enabled state. In this case the matter would be looked at with a fair fight principle and a potential conflict would be dismissed. Please be aware there is a special area that these PvP rules do not apply - Hotoga. ##### Camping Camping in player-versus-player instances will be divided into two separate occasions: * Area camping; * Body or corpse camping; ##### Area camping Area camping is defined as an individual player, or a group of them, taking control of a certain area on the map and as a result would kill other players entering that area. Let it be mentioned that upon killing a player that entered the area, he must be given a chance to leave the area before killing him. This action is allowed on the following instances: * Camping an objective, such as a boss monster or a field collectible; * Camping an area where another player has a chance to avoid it by going around you; This action is not allowed on the following instances: * Camping an area where another player has to pass through to reach an objective and has no alternative route to avoid you camping a specific area (in e×ample: dungeon choke points, objectives for teleporting, objectives for quests); ##### Body camping Body, or corpse, camping is defined as an individual player, or a group of them, repeatedly killing the same target over and over again in the vicinity of the same area. This action, without giving the target a chance for an unobstructed leave, is forbidden. #### Penalties A penalty will be applied with taking account the intention, the dynamics of the action, and the duration. The following is a potential go-to penalties, but are not limited to: * 1st offense - 1 hour(s) **Mark of the Criminal** debuff; * Disables the option to attack anything; * Disables the option to use any skills; * 2nd offense - 6 hour(s) **Mark of the Criminal** debuff; * 3nd offense - 24 hour(s) **Mark of the Criminal** debuff; * 4nd offense - 48 hour(s) **Mark of the Criminal** debuff; * 5th offense - 24 hour service block; * 6th offense - 72 hour service block; * 7th offense - 7 day service block; Each infraction point, starting from the most recent one, expires after 14 days. Having a new infraction added resets the 14 day expiration time. Infraction expiration time starts from the time the penalty has been carried out.
